Will fringe groups exploit the proxy exchange to advance radical agendas?

People sometimes raise this concern when they hear of the proxy exchange for the first time. One sensational scenario might have some anti-smoking group using the proxy exchange to seize control of tobacco firms and then shutting those firms down! That won’t happen. The proxy exchange is about corporate democracy, and democracy is about majority rule. A host of safeguards will keep fringe groups on the fringe.

the proxy exchange will prevent rights from being bought or bartered;

large aggregator’s voting records will be disclosed;

the proxy exchange, as legal holder of all proxy rights, will be able to intervene to prevent obvious abuses.

These safeguards will preclude anyone from employing the proxy process to harm corporations.
